Week 10 + 11 Recap
Standings
After 11 weeks, we finally have some clinches! With her dominating 107.94 - 64.97 victory over Ryan, Samantha is our first playoff team!
Meanwhile, on the other end of the standings, both Jon and Julian have been eliminated from playoff contention.
Despite the shellacking, Ryan is also close to a playoff spot, with Megan close behind. That leaves a 4-way race for the final spot. Power Rankings seem to indicate two groupings: Megan/Erik/Blythe + Tuesday/Morgan.
Let’s take a look at their perfinal 3 weeks
- Blythe: Samantha, Megan, Ryan
- Erik: Tuesday, Ryan, Julian
- Tuesday: Erik, Julian, Chris
- Morgan: Jon, Samantha, Megan
Something tells me at least one of those teams is going to have an easier time than others…if they can remember to SET THEIR LINEUP! In any case - don’t forget that the trading deadline is 12/12 at midnight. We’ll see which teams can string together some W’s at the end.
Week 10 was one of the most exciting set of matchups all year. Almost every game was decided by about 7 points and everybody scored at least 95 points (I’ll round because it makes the story better).
The highlight of that week was Jonathan Taylor’s 57.6 points, including an overtime walkoff TD. It’s a good thing too - because if JT had played to projection, he’d be playing for his fantasy life right now.
I don’t really know what to make of his Week 11 performance - other than Lamar just sucked and everyone else was basically cooked.
Elsewhere in Week 10, we had two really close matchups: Megan vs Samantha + JB vs Tuesday. Samantha’s team played pretty much right on projection, with Jared Goff making up for a normal-sized CMC score. Meanwhile, Megan got let down by James Cook and the rest of the Bills. Oooh - COOKED!!!
On the other side of that Bills - Dolphins debacle, De’Von Achane had a massive day on Tuesday’s roster - making up for some mid performances from Michael Penix (sigh) and TJ Hockenson. JB’s team outperformed everywhere but it just wasn’t enough to overcome that Bills / Dolphins nonsense. This was quite literally a kitchen sink game - nobody had bench players to spare (3 for 3 with the cooking references!)
Meanwhile, Blythe + Chris had a very close matchup in Week 10. In Week 11 my team was second only to Ryan in fewest points scored. My matchup with Morgan was like an episode of Salute your Shorts - I got roasted, toasted, and burnt to a crisp.
Blythe bounced back from her L to take the W over Chrisglory in the Clash of Clan Houtzer expansion pack. Somehow she survived a 4 point outing from JJ McCarthy and a terrible day from Emeka Egbuka. I’m out of witty cooking puns at this point.
BUT SINCE WE’RE ON THE SUBJECT OF FAMILY FEUDS
Megan picked the best game to win with her 35 point victory over Erik. Despite from Josh Jacobs leaving with a hammy and a YOLO from Greg Dortch - Erik’s team was struck out. That roster was (is?) sus and lost its rizz at the worst possible time.
Bench of the week goes to me - I left TMacMillan and his 33 points just chilling in exchange for a Tight End and a prayer that Justin Herbert would remember to throw the ball. Herbert is clearly on his way to getting Jessica Simpson’d this year.
