Week 3 Recap
Standings
We’re starting to see a little bit of separation in the league. Megan and Ryan being undedefeated is kind of annoying, but that stack of 2-win teams is pretty legit.
Come to think of it, JB is #2 in points-for, with CLEAR separation from Blythe at number 3 and I can’t recall JB ever having this type of success at this point in the season. Let’s go to the numbers!
| Year | Win | Loss |
|---|---|---|
| 2011 | 0 | 3 |
| 2012 | 0 | 3 |
| 2013 | 0 | 3 |
| 2014 | 1 | 2 |
| 2015 | 1 | 2 |
| 2016 | 2 | 1 |
| 2017 | 0 | 3 |
| 2018 | 1 | 2 |
| 2019 | 0 | 3 |
| 2020 | 1 | 2 |
| 2021 | 2 | 1 |
| 2022 | 1 | 2 |
| 2023 | 1 | 2 |
| 2024 | 1 | 2 |
| 2025 | 1 | 2 |
| 2026 | 2 | 1 |
Yup - JB hasn’t been this good since 2021 and it’s only the second time EVER he’s started 2-1.
In other news, Jon finally gets a W in his own home. It only took him 5 add/drops at 9:45pm on Saturday to take down the champ. He hasn’t had a W against her since 2020, so…that’s something.
Elsewhere in Teams that don’t suck land, Bijan Robinson was head and shoulders (no that’s Troy Polamalu) THE best player on the field this week. With 41 points, Megan really only needed her kicker, DST and Lamar to beat Julian. He’s currently the 4th best player in the league and the only player ahead of him who is on a winning team is JSN. JB STRIKES AGAIN.
Insert obvious mustard joke
The two questions we all wanted to know - will Julian or Erik get their first W?
No. No they did not.
Julian ran right into the Bijan buzzsaw. If only had moved some of the flames coming off his bench onto his roster, he would have had a competitive team this week - his ideal score of 115 would have beaten 7 other teams. All hope is not lost.
Which brings us to Erik.
If Erik thought he drafted a A5 Kobe beef team, then his current roster is basically Safeway Rancher’s Reserve at this point.
- Puka (1st round) is MIA. He officially pulled a loin and he might play football at some point. Who knows.
- Drake Maye (4th round) only knows how to to throw meatball subs at this point. Week 3 - 1.75 points. I got nothing on that one.
- TreyVeyon Henderson (6th round) was grounded Week 1 and couldn’t even sniff the football in Week 3.
- Jonathan Brooks (7th round) was supposed to be the Carolina bell-cow and instead he’s on the IR. Again.
- JK Dobbins (8th round) he’s played his 3 good games and will hurt himself. Just ask Ryan.
- Chris Godwin (9th round) the Bucs are starting an undrafted QB this week after Baker broke his thumb.
Tuten, London, and McBride are taking a break from practicing injury law to keep this team alive. Malik Washington is getting lots of kick returns because the Dolphins are getting boat-raced each week, so that’s positive I guess.
This boxed lunch of a roster did almost get the W against Shannon this weekend - but the Eagles stole a Jalen Hurts TD at the end of the 1st half while also getting run out of town by the Bears. Basically everything that Erik needed to not have happen did. I’m pretty sure Erik didn’t vote on the TE rule change because his phone is stuck in the wall or ended up in the Green Egg.
Manager Stats
Oh look - the commish’s team continued it’s nosedive again this week in the Power Rankings. If not for the surprise Week 1 W, I’d be in the basement with Erik and Julian. In keeping with the food metaphors, my team is basically mystery meat at this point.
